Ghiran Consortium

The Ghiran Consortium is a league of powerful figures and organizations that preside over the city-state of Ghirandol. The balance of power in the city has always been in a state of conflict and flux, but fear of the end of days has spurred a burgeoning schism among the ruling powers, especially within the ecclesia.

Gnomes have allegedly existed for eons in subterranian hives, but only first started appearing on the surface when human society was already well established. As far as common scholarship can ascertain, gnome society has changed very little over the course of history, though not for lack of sophistication. Gnomish hives are far more atomized from one another than the settlements of surface-dwellers, due to the sheer volume of solid earth separating them. In many cases even Gnomes in contact with one another never communicate directly, instead signaling one another via plant and fungal networks. Nonetheless, the emergence of the first gnomes began a tradition of cultural exchange and curiosity.

While some gnomes enclaves dwell in the aboveground cities, broader societal integration between gnomes and humans would not came to pass as it had with the Ogre. Gnomes, though amiable, are broadly solitary and often find themselves ill-suited to the world of larger beings and open spaces.

Gnome pilgrims are known to trade in gossip and rumors. Though they aren't thought to be habitual liars, it is said that minting embelishment increases their currency's worth. Any tale spun concerning gnomes warrants some amount of skepticism.

Marquess Anathema

Gnomish congregations practice their own animistic gnosticism in addition to the practices common to kindred peoples. The nature of gnomish worship is obscure, and with considerable variation between hives.
